Seasonal Miniature Villages
Growing up having such a strong interest in lights, I was drawn to the idea of miniature scenes, whether that was model displays, seasonal villages, or theatrical models. What I find most captivating is the ability to downsize what we see on a day to day basis into a whimsical utopia, incorporating both real and unreal details. I always had such a strong passion for the holidays specifically Halloween and Christmas, which led me to annually create these villages both for my family, and for the public to see. This passion has now led to an interest in creating window scenes for the holidays.
Each village sits on hand crafted platforms, hills, and mountains formed from natural objects such as bark, rocks, sticks and trees. Other materials include styrofoam, hot glue, toothpicks, and silicone.
